I’m always delighted to offer workshops at the Southern California Writers Conference. On 9/20-9/22/13, I’ll be offering a few more at SCWC’s fall conference held in Newport Beach, Ca.

In this indie age of publishing, the value of attending a writers conference that offers role models of writers you want to emulate cannot be understated. It’s important to aim high-not just sell books-but to aim high so that you become the best story teller you can possibly be. Best selling true crime author Caitlin Rother delivered a keynote at 2013 SCWC’s winter conference held in San Diego. A former investigatve reporter, Ms. Rother’s team was honored with a Pulitzer Prize nomination. When she left reporting, she turned her career toward writing books full time. Today, she is author/co-author or nine books, fiction & nonfiction. Her latest, LOST GIRLS, garnered lots of press and when that happened, social media cranked it up a notch more.  Ms. Rother  talked to us about the good, the bad & ugly of this digital age we are navigating through. Here’s a snippet of what she had to say.

Her latest true crime,  I’LL TAKE CARE OF YOU, pub date/early 2014, already has my attention. This true crime story is set in my kids’ hometown, Newport Beach, CA.

Here’s a teaser:

I’LL TAKE CARE OF YOU by New York Times bestselling author Caitlin Rother serves as a lens onto our obsession with celebrity, a national epidemic of materialism, and a lethal greed that has put so many Americans into the throes of crippling debt.
