21st Century Authors: Talking to Marla Miller

Is writing your second career? If so, what has your first career contributed to your storytelling? How did you learn the craft of writing? How did you learn the business of publishing? Tell us your story. I love chitchatting with writers and through our chats? Good stuff emerges that may benefit those traveling down their own roads to publication.

In my premiere interview, I talk to Dr Julie Dillemuth, a PhD in Geography, and children’s book author, 4-8 years. Spatial relationships are at the center of her stories about navigating the world by drawing & reading maps! Julie is also a poet & screenwriter.  For more information, www.JulieDillemuth.com

Dr. Julie Dillemuth: “I’d Always been a frustrated Writer.”

Multi Published Author Gayle Garline Tested the Indie Publishing Route Early On

“You’re stories are funny but come back when you’re famous!” said too many literary agents to now multi published author, columnist and former computer techie, Gayle Carline. The indie publishing movement was getting underway when Gayle thought “It can’t hurt to try it.” She did and almost 20 novels, collections and creative nonfiction books later, she now covers the indie option in her workshops at writing conferences including the Southern California Writers Conference.
