Last week, I posted this blog in Authors Popping Above the Noise about Genese Davis.

This week, Huff Post Books blogger,  Jocelyn Kelley, posted this column about the “new adult fiction genre” which defines exactly the dilemma Genese found herself in when industry ‘experts’ (agents) would not represent The Holder’s Dominion because the protagonist was too old and the story-in their opinion-was Y/A.

“No it isn’t ” insisted Genese.

Here’s the good news: this author stuck to her guns, used her I.T. knowledge to network and even blogged about her ‘resistance’. Guess what? Her blog opinion caught the attention of Publishers Weekly. Meet Genese Davis, a rising star (in my humble) of this ‘new adult fiction’ that she didn’t know was coming. She just knew her young protagonist was too old to be slotted in Y/A.

Who knows your story better than you do?
